Alright so there are some mixed reviews about Hk Cafe around Portland but I think they are fairly good and with their portion sizes, prices and the dim sum. They have all the basic Chinese dishes with some specialty items like duck, live seafood and unique creative dishes that others might not have. On this night, we had duck, seafood chow mein (not sure if that’s what it’s called), two hot pots and salt and peppered pork chops.
Out of all the dishes, my fav would be the salt and peppered pork chops: they had a light crunch on the outside and were tender and well seasoned. This is my second time having this dish and I have never found it at another place. As for the duck, it was juicy and has a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The noodle dish had crunchy noodles like I expect them to and had a fair about of seafood including shrimp, scallops, squid and fish (all very yummah). And finally the clay pots were all kinda basic and lacked some more ingredients(taro pot should have more taro…just stay’n) but was well-flavored. The dinner also comes with free house soup of the night and free dessert. All the dishes were delicious and I would recommend them all!
